Dear Mr. Hendricks,

I am writing to apply for the Human Services Assistant position with the Parkland County Department of Children and Youth Services. I am an experienced human services professional with over five years working in the child protective services field.

In my current role of Human Services Assistant with the Springfield Home for Youth, I assess reports of child maltreatment or abuse and assist in obtaining interview information from families, youth and witnesses to aid in investigations. I am thorough, organized and detail oriented, always making sure to include every pertinent piece of information in my reports, as I know that even the smallest aspect could be important in reaching a valid conclusion. I am a compassionate and diplomatic interviewer, maintaining non-judgment in order to encourage each person to tell their own story.

Above all, I am compassionate and caring. I have received compliments from supervisors on my ability to put all parties at ease in a stressful situation. It would be an honor to share my experience and skills with the families served by the Parkland Countyy Department of Children and Youth Services.
