As you are aware I have worked for five years as a detective and have the experience needed for promotion to the Sergeant role. Including the detective experience I have now been on the force for nine years as well as have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

I have been successful in my current role both in terms of crime scene investigation as well as community-building. I also have the strong interpersonal skills needed for relationship-building with officers and the public. My excellent leadership abilities allow me terrific oversight of newer detectives and routine officers under my command. My experience makes mea good candidate for the Police Sergeant job. My skills make me a good fit for this role. I regularly cover for the current Police Sergeant in performing all of the roll call duties when he is away.
