Example Cover Letter For A Coffee Shop

Dear Mr. Jones,

I was excited to learn that Starbucks has an opening in their local coffee shop and I am writing to apply. I have two years of experience working as a barista at The Grind and would like to bring my skills in making espresso drinks to Starbucks. I have an extensive knowledge of many different coffee drinks and a strong motivation to provide excellent service.

My work at The Grind Coffee Shop involves taking orders, making drinks as specified, grinding and ordering beans and running the cash register. I am fast and efficient and rarely have to refer to recipes. My learning curve will be quick if I begin working at Starbucks as I have already attained a significant knowledge base.

I know nothing goes better with a good espresso drink than an equally tasty sandwich or pastry. I make recommendations and suggestively sell these accoutrements to customers. My work in the coffee shop is aided greatly by my strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

I would be a great addition as a barista at Starbuck’s Coffee Shop. I have completed the online application and have attached my resume to this email. Please respond soon to schedule an in person interview.
