With the tightening economy increasing the competition for jobs, business graduates have been advised to make sure they start their employment search as early as possible. The Herald said that in the current climate, individuals studying areas such as marketing or business administration cannot afford to wait until graduation day before they start seriously pursuing career opportunities. Dr Ed Rayburn told the site that with bachelor's degrees more common now than they were a few years ago, starting early and getting things like resumes right can give graduates the edge. Business graduates should also remember that they may need to relocate to land the better jobs, he noted. "A lot of students are unwilling to relocate, and that hinders them finding a job in their career field," Dr Rayburn said. Faced with a tough job market, some students are furthering their education through graduate school - although this does not mean they should ease up on the job hunt. Business administration student Heather Young said she began looking for a career as soon as she started her graduate school course. According to a study by the Princeton Review, business administration and management is the most popular major in the US. |
